Ministry Assistant Glenda Westmoreland

I became your church secretary on April 1,1990, making this my 25th year of being blessed in the opportunity to serve the family of Newhebron Baptist Church.  I truly enjoy serving you and my wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I have attended many Christian growth skill shops and I completed the office administration skills and requirements as a Certified Ministry Assistant.

I was born im Magee General Hospital in Simpson County on February 9, 1951, along with my twin sister Brenda Rainey.  My New Birth in Christ was March 17, 1988.

I have been married to Kenneth Westmoreland since May 30, 1970.  We were blessed with three children, Michael (married to Sali) with two children - Tristan and Sydni; Charlie (married to Missy) with two children - Mason and Levi and Kimberly (Kim) who is attending NOBTS getting her Master's Degree in Christian Counseling.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Some of my favorite verses are:  John 3:16-17, Mark 11:24, Ephesians 1:3,1 John 15-17 and Philippians 4:13 & 19

Ministry Assistant Johnnie Shows

Since December of 2006, Johnnie has been the Financial Assistant for Newhebron Baptist Church.  Being a church member as well as a part of the church staff, she has been involved with the daily business of the church office and has participated with several church groups.  Johnnie is happy to be a part of the Newhebron Baptist Church team!

Prior to being selected as the church financial assistant, Johnnie served in several administrative capacities. She received her bachelor's degree from Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Mississippi.  In her previous positions she gained many years of experience working with various types of business serving in administrative and leadership roles.

Johnnie has Mississippi roots and is pleased to be working with "home-town" folks.  In 1979 she married Ewell Shows, a long time member of the community.  Johnnie has a daughter and a son, both married and each have given her two grandchildren.  Becoming Mrs. Shows also granted her new extended family, including Ewell's daughter and two children, son and daughter-in-law and their two children.  Many church members have seen the results of Johnnie's favorite pastime, sewing for her grandkids.  In other free time she reads, cooks and prepares all the garden goodies that Ewell brings in from his family garden.  Spending time with family and friends are her most treasured times.
